Dunn-Seiler Museum will hold virtual Earth Day Competition!

Big Dunn Seiler Entrance

Calling all creative kids, grades K-12! The Dunn-Seiler Museum will be holding their annual Earth Day competion virtually this year! We can't wait to see your entries!

Dunn-Seiler Museum 2021 Earth Day
Restore Our Earth Virtual Recycling Challenge!

The Dunn-Seiler Museum partners with the Earth Day Organization to Restore Our Earth! You can MAKE A DIFFERENCE with the volume of plastic that ends up in the ocean and landfills—and help our planet become a GREENER place by finding a better use for discarded plastic!
We challenge you to find an alternative, creative use for discarded plastic. Grab that water bottle before it gets thrown in the garbage, and retrieve plastic shipping materials and plastic jugs before they
are set out at the curb!

Our DIGITIAL GUIDELINES:
Individual K-12 students or groups can participate – while maintaining social distancing!

  1. Construct an original, unique model from discarded, clean plastic.
  2. Take a selfie with your plastic creation!
  3. E-mail the following to RClary@geosci.msstate.edu by 5pm CST APRIL 15, 2021: selfie photograph, a description of your plastic invention, the names and ages of the K-12 students who created it, your hometown and state
  4. Models will be scored on creativity and diversity—with points awarded for multiple types of discarded plastic.

We will announce winners on Earth Day for elementary (K-5), middle (6-8), and high school (7-12) individuals and/or groups. If you have questions, please contact Renee Clary at RClary@Geosci.MsState.edu .
