Mississippi State University’s Dunn-Seiler Museum and the Earth Day Organization invite you to
INVEST IN OUR PLANET!

You can MAKE A DIFFERENCE by reducing the amount of plastic, cardboard, and other items that end up in landfills and oceans.

YOU can help invest in our planet by finding a better use for discarded items!

We challenge you to find an alternative, creative use for discarded and found items. Grab that water bottle before it gets thrown in the garbage!  Retrieve the cardboard boxes that are placed at the curb! Repurpose and reuse those once-discarded items and make something useful or beautiful!

Our DIGITIAL GUIDELINES:
1. Individual K-12 students or groups can participate.
2. Construct an original, unique model from discarded, clean plastic, cardboard, and other found items.
3.Take a selfie with your recycled creation!
4. Email the selfie photograph, a description of your invention, the names and ages of the K-12
students who created it, your hometown and state, to rclary@geosci.msstate.edu by 5pm
CDT, April 15, 2022.

5. Models will be scored on creativity and diversity—with points awarded for multiple types of discarded
items.
We will announce winners on Earth Day for elementary (K-5), middle (6-8), and high school (7-12)
individuals and/or groups. Questions? Please contact Renee Clary at rclary@geosci.msstate.edu
